The University of Toledo is one of 13 state universities in Ohio. It was established in 1872 and became a member of the state university system in 1967. The University of Toledo and the Medical University of Ohio merged this year to form the third-largest public university operating budget in the state.

UT is a community built around eleven academic colleges and professional programs matched only by a handful of public universities nationwide, including Ohio State University and the University of Michigan.

UT's main campus, located along the banks of the Ottawa River in a residential section of the city, includes historic buildings, modern facilities, contemporary residence halls and lots of green space.

The University of Toledo Health Science Campus is home to UT Medical Center hospitals and clinics and many of UT's health-science research and education programs that are teaching the next generation of physicians, nurses and other health care professionals. 

Owens

 

Founded in 1965, Owens continues to offer an affordable, quality education to those who are seeking an associate degree, continuing education courses and professional development. Owens Community College allows you to complete the first two years of a bachelor's degree and then transfer to any four-year college or university. To enhance this process, Owens has cultivated transfer agreements with over 20 area four-year colleges and universities.

Between our two campuses in Toledo and Findlay, Owens serves over 45,000 credit and non-credit students annually, yet our average class size is just 15 students
Owens Community College Toledo-area campus covers more than 280 acres and is located near downtown Toledo. The new 60-acre Findlay-area campus is located at 3200 Bright Road in Findlay.  

 

 

Lourdes College is a coeducational, liberal arts college sponsored by the Sisters of Saint Francis of Sylvania, Ohio.

 

Lourdes is a commuter college situated on 94 wooded acres in Sylvania, Ohio, 10 miles west of Toledo. In addition to the educational facilities, Lourdes College also provides services through The Franciscan Center, a performing arts and conference facility. Additional services on the site include: the Trinity House of Prayer, the Franciscan Services Corporation, and the Interfaith Justice and Peace Center.

 

BGSU

Bowling Green State University

  • State-assisted university founded in 1910 as a school to train teachers
  • 1,338 acres with 113 buildings on the main campus, located in Bowling Green, Ohio, 23 miles south of Toledo, adjacent to Interstate 75
  • BGSU Firelands College, opened in 1968, is located on 216-acre campus in Huron, Ohio
  • 2006-07 operating budget of $364.39 million for both campuses combined
  • Endowment fund of $124.03 million
