Northwest Ohio College Access Program
Think College Now manages and administers the GEAR UP site in Lucas County. The mission of the Northwest Ohio College Access Program is to provide the opportunity for students in Northwest Ohio, who have the desire and have developed the requisite skills, to obtain education beyond high school.
GEAR UP Ohio
GEAR UP's eight lighthouse programs are guiding all Ohio communities to comprehensive strategies for increasing the number of students who aspire to, prepare for and successfully experience college. These communities are offering a menu of proven college access best practices-those that most effectively meet the needs of students, families and teachers they serve.
The Ohio Board of Regents, as the lead organization, is working with the Ohio College Access Network (OCAN) and the Ohio Department of Education to help all Ohio communities find a safe and sure course to a future in which every student aspires to go to college -- and is able to do so.
Ohio Board of Regents
The Ohio Board of Regents is a nine-member coordinating board with two ex-officio representatives from the State Legislature created in 1963 by the General Assembly to:
¨ provide higher education policy advice to the Governor and General Assembly;
¨ develop a strategy involving Ohio's public and independent colleges and universities; advocate for and manage state funds for public colleges; and
¨ coordinate and implement state higher education policies.
Ohio Department of Education
The Ohio Department of Education (ODE) is a partner of GEAR UP Ohio. ODE provides professional development for teachers and educational resources for all of the GEAR UP lighthouse sites.
Ohio College Access Program
Ocan provides leadership and support for Ohio college access organizations while working closely with the state partners and the Ohio Business Roundtable to help increase the college going rate in the state.
Toledo Public Schools
Toledo Public Schools is a leading urban school district in Ohio.
